Prevyu Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 2, 2026
Last updated: September 2, 2026
1. Introduction
Downgate Labs LLC ("Downgate Labs," "we," "us," or "our") operates Prevyu (the "App"), a general wellness app that turns progress photos into a record of your physique over time. Prevyu estimates body composition from photos you take, measures body proportions and posture, tracks those readings across check-ins, and offers optional AI features such as photo comparisons, three-angle Body Assessments and goal previews.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Prevyu collects, how it is used and shared, how long it is kept, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Prevyu mobile app and the services behind it.
By creating a Prevyu account and using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Prevyu is for adults. Account setup requires a stated age of 18 or over. See Section 13.
Prevyu is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it provides no medication, dosage or side-effect guidance. Body composition estimates, scores, posture screens, development levels and all AI outputs are approximate. See Section 16.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information. Prevyu accounts are created using a third-party sign-in provider. On Android you sign in with Google; on iOS, Sign in with Apple is also offered. We receive the identifying information that provider returns, typically your name and email address, and we store your email address and a display name. If you use Sign in with Apple's private relay option, the relay address is all we receive. Prevyu does not ask you to create a password, and we never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Photographs. Photos you capture or import for check-ins, Body Assessments, gallery entries, Bulk or Cut analyses and goal previews. Photos may carry embedded metadata such as a capture date; Prevyu reads the capture date so it can date a check-in or assessment correctly.
- Body and profile data. Height, weight, age, sex, and any body-fat percentage you enter yourself, including measured results from a scan, calipers or a clinic. Weight entries you add over time form your weight history.
- Goals and preferences. The physique archetype you are working toward, goal type, target weight, focus areas, any deadline you enter, your training-experience level, unit system and locale.
- Feedback and support correspondence. In-app feedback you submit and any email you send us.
- Purchase information. Your subscription status and entitlements. Purchases are processed by the app store and managed through our subscription provider. We never receive or store your payment card details.
2.2 Information Prevyu derives from your photos and entries
- Estimated body composition. An estimated body-fat percentage produced from a photo, and, when you have entered a weight, a derived lean mass and FFMI.
- Body measurements. Proportion readings such as shoulder-to-waist, chest-to-waist, waist-to-hip and waist-to-height, and posture readings. These are measured on your device. See Section 4.
- Assessments and scores. Your Progress Score and its history, milestones, Body Assessment results, photo comparison results, Bulk or Cut recommendations, and Coach guidance.
- Generated images. Goal previews and shareable progress cards produced from your photos.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Product analytics. We use Mixpanel to understand how the App is used and whether it is working — for example which features and screens are opened, when check-ins are completed, subscription changes, and errors encountered. Analytics are associated with your account identifier.
- Limited numeric body data in analytics. A small number of analytics events carry coarse body-related values, such as an estimated body-fat figure or sex, which we use to tell whether our estimates are behaving correctly. Your photographs are never sent to analytics, and analytics events do not carry your name or email address.
- Device and diagnostic data. Device type, operating system version, app version, session information, error messages and performance metrics.
- Install attribution. Once per install, Prevyu reads the app store's install attribution information and records any campaign or referral identifier, so we can tell where installs come from. The app stores do not disclose the search terms you typed, and we do not receive them. An organic install carries no campaign identifiers and none are recorded.
2.4 Information we do not collect
- We do not collect precise or approximate geolocation.
- We do not access your contacts, call logs, messages or other apps' data.
- We do not scan or index your photo library. Only the photos you explicitly select or capture are used.
- We do not perform face recognition and do not use any photo or measurement to identify you.
- We do not collect medical records, diagnoses, prescriptions, medication names or dosing information. Prevyu has no medication-tracking feature.
- We do not display advertising and do not work with advertising networks or data brokers.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the App's core functionality: photo check-ins, your progress history, the Progress Score, proportion and posture measurement, comparisons, Body Assessments, Coach guidance, Bulk or Cut analyses and goal previews.
- To produce estimates and derived values, such as lean mass and FFMI from your weight and an estimated body-fat percentage.
- To apply health and safety guardrails (see Section 6).
- To operate subscriptions, entitlements and usage allowances, and to prevent abuse.
- To send you the reminders and notifications you have enabled.
- To diagnose faults, measure reliability, understand feature usage and improve the product.
- To respond to your support requests and feedback.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not use your photos or body data to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
4. On-Device Processing
Proportion and posture measurements are computed entirely on your device, using on-device machine learning bundled with the App. No network request is made to produce these measurements, and your photo is not uploaded in order to compute them. What is saved to your account is the resulting measurements, so that your history persists.
The App also creates temporary working copies of photos on your device and caches images so screens load quickly. These local files are cleaned up by the App, and are removed entirely when you uninstall it or clear its storage.
5. AI Processing
Several Prevyu features send a photo to an AI provider for analysis. This happens only for the features listed below, and only when you take the action that starts them. Requests are routed through our servers rather than made directly from your device.
5.1 Features that send a photo to an AI provider
- Body composition reading. Your check-in photo, plus context such as sex, height, weight, age and any body-fat figure you entered, is sent so an estimated body-fat percentage can be returned.
- Photo comparison. Two of your check-in photos and their context are sent so the change between them can be described.
- Body Assessment. Up to three photos (front, side and back) and your biometric and goal context are sent so per-region results and a training focus can be returned.
- Bulk or Cut analysis. One photo plus your biometrics, priority, training experience and any deadline are sent so a phase can be recommended.
- Gallery evaluation. A gallery photo you choose is sent for an informational body composition evaluation. You confirm before this runs.
- Goal preview. Your photo and context built from your biometrics and chosen archetype are sent so an illustrative image can be generated.
5.2 Our AI provider, and what they may do with your photo
These features use Google's Gemini API, and Prevyu uses it on a paid tier. That distinction matters, because it changes what Google is permitted to do with what we send.
Your photos are not used to train or improve AI models. Under Google's terms for paid Gemini API services, Google does not use prompts or responses — including files such as images — to improve its products. We do not use your photos or body data to train any model of our own, and we do not license or provide them to anyone else for that purpose.
The one carve-out, which we state plainly rather than leave out: Google logs prompts and responses for a limited period solely to detect and prevent violations of its prohibited-use policy, and may retain data for the minimum time needed to comply with law. That is abuse monitoring and legal compliance, not model training.
We do not send Google your name, email address or account credentials, so what reaches the provider is a photograph and the body context needed to interpret it, not your identity. Google's handling is governed by the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
5.3 What AI output means
AI outputs are estimates and illustrations. A body-fat estimate from a photograph is not equivalent to a DEXA scan, hydrostatic weighing or any clinical measurement. A goal preview shows a direction, not a prediction of your future appearance. Nothing Prevyu produces is medical advice.
6. Health and Safety Guardrails
Prevyu applies constraints so that goals and generated previews stay within a responsible range. These include a minimum BMI floor and a limit on how much weight loss a preview may depict, sex-specific minimum body-fat percentages and a valid range for a self-reported body-fat figure, warnings when your entries indicate underweight status, a plausibility floor that corrects an implausible body-fat estimate rather than storing it, and the AI provider's built-in safety filters. Photos flagged by those filters are rejected, and repeated rejections may trigger a cooldown.
Data used for these constraints is not used for any other purpose.
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following providers. Each acts as our service provider or processor and is permitted to use the data only to deliver the service described.
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Gemini API (paid tier) | The AI analysis and image generation features described in Section 5. Paid-tier terms mean submitted content is not used to improve Google's models | ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms |
| Supabase | Account authentication, data storage and backend services | supabase.com/privacy |
| Mixpanel | Product analytics and reliability insights | mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription and entitlement management | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Google Play | App distribution, billing, sign-in and install attribution | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, and on iOS, app distribution, billing and install attribution | apple.com/legal/privacy |
We do not share your information with advertising networks, ad exchanges, data brokers or social platforms.
8. Data Storage and Security
Your photos, generated images, check-ins, measurements, assessments, goals and subscription state are stored in our cloud environment, associated with your account. Your reminder settings, app preferences, cached images and temporary working files stay on your device.
We maintain technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of this data. These include encryption of data in transit, access controls that isolate each account's data so that one user cannot reach another's, time-limited links for retrieving stored images rather than publicly accessible addresses, and restricted internal access to production systems and third-party credentials.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for the security of your device and your account.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Your photos, readings, assessments and history are retained for as long as your account exists, because the product's purpose is a longitudinal record.
Deleting individual items. You can delete a photo, a comparison or an assessment from within the App. Deleting a photo also removes the results derived from it.
Deleting your account. Profile settings include account deletion, which permanently removes your stored photos, generated images and all associated records, along with your account itself. If any part of that process does not complete, the App tells you the deletion did not succeed rather than reporting a success, and your account is left intact so you can retry.
Data held by others after deletion. Analytics records already collected are retained under our analytics provider's retention policy; you may ask us to request their deletion using the contact details in Section 17. Purchase and subscription records held by the app stores and our subscription provider are retained under their policies and applicable tax and accounting law. Support correspondence is retained for up to 24 months. Content already sent to the AI provider is retained under that provider's terms, as described in Section 5.2, and is not associated with your name or email address.
Images you export. Progress cards, goal previews and other images you choose to save to your device or share with someone else leave Prevyu's control at that point. Deleting your account does not remove copies you have already saved or shared.
10. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only:
- to the service providers listed in Section 7, for the purposes described there;
- when you direct us to, for example by sharing a progress card;
- to comply with law, a subpoena, a court order or a lawful government request;
- to protect the rights, property or safety of Downgate Labs, our users or the public, or to investigate fraud or abuse; and
- in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify users through an in-app notice or an update to this policy before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
11. International Transfers
Downgate Labs LLC is based in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you use Prevyu from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers out of the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
12. Your Rights and Choices
Everyone
- Access and correct your profile and body data directly in the App.
- Delete individual photos, comparisons and assessments, or your entire account, from the App.
- Turn reminders and notifications off in the App or in your device's system settings.
- Manage or revoke camera and photo-library permissions in your device's system settings.
- Choose not to use the AI features. Check-ins, history, proportions and manual body-fat entry work without them.
- Opt out of analytics by contacting us at the address in Section 17. There is currently no in-app analytics toggle. Uninstalling the App also ends analytics collection.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your app store's subscription settings.
United States state privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale or sharing to opt out of. To exercise a right, contact us using Section 17; account deletion is also available directly in the App at any time. You may authorize an agent to act for you, and we may ask you to verify your identity, which for account data means verifying control of your account email.
Consumer health data (Washington, Nevada and similar laws)
Some states treat body measurements, body-fat estimates and related fitness information as consumer health data. Prevyu collects that data only to provide the features you use, as described in Section 2 and Section 3. We do not sell consumer health data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use geofencing of any kind. Where the law requires your consent for collection or for any sharing, we rely on the consent you give by creating an account and using the relevant feature, and you may withdraw it by deleting your account. Residents covered by these laws may request access to, and deletion of, their consumer health data using Section 17.
EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Our legal bases are:
- Contract — to provide the App you have signed up for, including your account, storage of your check-ins and delivery of the features you use.
- Explicit consent — for processing photographs and body measurements, which are special category data, and for optional AI processing of those photos. You give this consent by creating an account and by starting each AI feature, and you may withdraw it at any time by stopping use of the feature or deleting your account.
- Legitimate interests — for product analytics, diagnostics, security and fraud prevention, balanced against your rights, and limited as described in Section 2.3.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information by law.
13. Children's Privacy
Prevyu is intended for adults. Account setup rejects a stated age below 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Because the App involves photographs and body measurements, we treat this seriously. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
14. Advertising
Prevyu contains no advertising. We do not share data with advertising networks, ad exchanges or data brokers, and we do not build advertising profiles. Install attribution, described in Section 2.3, tells us which campaign or referral led to an install; it does not target advertising to you inside the App.
15. Device Permissions
- Camera — to take check-in and assessment photos.
- Photo library (read) — to import a photo you select. Prevyu accesses only the photos you pick.
- Photo library (write) — to save progress cards, goal previews and other images to your device when you ask it to.
- Notifications — to deliver check-in reminders and to tell you when a long-running task has finished. Reminders are scheduled on your device; Prevyu does not operate a push notification server.
- Internet and network state — required for sign-in, cloud storage, AI features, analytics and purchase verification.
- Run at startup — so reminders you have scheduled survive a device restart.
Each permission is used only for the stated purpose, and you can change any of them in your device's system settings.
16. Body Data, Biometric Laws and Health Disclaimers
What body data we hold. Height, weight, age, sex, body-fat percentages you enter or that Prevyu estimates, derived lean mass and FFMI, proportion and posture readings, per-region results, and the photographs those readings came from. This data is used to produce your readings and history, to apply the guardrails in Section 6, and to show you your own record.
We do not use any of it for identification. Prevyu performs no face recognition and no identity matching. The on-device processing described in Section 4 locates points on the body in order to measure distances and angles; it produces no face template or identity signature, and that data is used only to compute and display your measurements.
Illinois (BIPA) and Texas (CUBI). We do not collect, capture or store biometric identifiers as those laws define them — retina or iris scans, fingerprints, voiceprints, or scans of hand or face geometry — and we do not use any data to identify an individual. Height, weight and body-fat figures you enter are self-reported measurements, and the proportion and posture readings are geometric measurements computed on your device.
Health disclaimer. Prevyu is a general wellness product. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. Body composition estimates, Progress Scores, posture screens, development levels, comparisons and every AI output are approximate, are not clinical measurements, and are not a guarantee of any future result. Prevyu does not track medication, manage doses or monitor side effects, and provides no medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and before making significant changes to your diet, training or weight.
