AI receipt scanning
Snap a photo and HSA Hoard extracts the provider, date, and amount to reduce repetitive entry. Review the details, then save the record.
Scan medical receipts, organize unreimbursed expenses, and keep the documentation you may need years from now in a private, purpose-built Android vault.
Free for your first 10 receipts · Optional upgrades · No ads

The HSA shoebox strategy can span decades, but paper fades and general-purpose photo folders become impossible to audit. HSA Hoard gives qualified medical expense documentation a focused home, with the details, totals, and exports needed to make the archive useful.
Photograph a receipt while it is in hand and let AI prefill the provider, expense date, and amount.
See a running total across your saved expenses instead of calculating it from a pile of files.
Export selected receipts and their details as CSV or a full PDF with the associated images.
Purpose-built recordkeeping
Every feature is centered on capturing, finding, totaling, protecting, and exporting HSA documentation.
Snap a photo and HSA Hoard extracts the provider, date, and amount to reduce repetitive entry. Review the details, then save the record.
See the value of unreimbursed expenses accumulate over time from one clear dashboard.
Create CSV data or a complete PDF containing receipt details and images for the records you select.
Your backup is stored in your own Google Drive rather than on Downgate Labs servers, keeping the archive portable and under your account.
Find receipts by provider, year, category, or family member and group expenses into reimbursement batches.
Choose a target year and assumed return to illustrate how today's unreimbursed total might compound. It is a configurable illustration, not a forecast.
Ways to use it
File expenses as they happen, catch up in a focused session, or prepare a reimbursement package without rebuilding your records from scratch.
Photograph a receipt, review the details, assign a category or family member, and keep the original documentation with the record.
Use manual entry or optional AI scanning to turn a folder of receipts into a searchable annual archive.
Select eligible records, group them into a reimbursement batch, and export the details as CSV or a PDF with images.
How it works
Photograph the document and let the app extract its key information.
Confirm the details, save the image, and keep expenses easy to browse or filter by year.

Vault Unlock
Remove the receipt limit without committing to a subscription.
AI Assistant

Private by design
Receipt records are stored in private app storage on your device. No Downgate Labs account is required. Google sign-in is requested only if you turn on backup to your own Google Drive.
After one-time consent, only receipts you choose to scan are sent through Firebase AI Logic to Gemini. Results are probabilistic, include a confidence score, and should be reviewed before saving.
Backups are available on every tier and place images plus the vault data file in your own Drive. It is an app-triggered backup—not continuous background synchronization.
HSA Hoard does not connect to your HSA custodian, bank, insurer, brokerage, or healthcare provider and does not know your actual HSA balance or investments.
Use the optional biometric gate for another layer of access control around the records on your phone.
Inside the app
Capture the details, understand the total, find individual records, and export what you need.
